...I try my hardest to see things from other people's eyes, it isn't always easy, especially when my feelings get in the way. I even can feel for some Chase employees, certainly not most, because I think they hired a majority of the people we speak with, especially in Customer Service (what an oxymoron), via mass interviews. If they breathed and and could read from a script, they were hired. Thinking and common sense were not a requirement. Unfortunately for American homeowners, this has been a literal disaster.

Everyone has heard that refrain, 'The Bank doesn't want your house'.  And for the longest time, like many others, I believed it.  Unfortunately, now many people are finding out the cold, hard truth...why, yes they do want your house, and your neighbor's house too.

But why, you might ask.

Back in the good old days...you applied for a mortgage, you submitted your financial information and documentation, then the bank told you how much you were qualified to borrow, you signed the mortgage papers and after you made your 30 years of regular fixed rate mortgage payments, the bank made their 30 years of 5 or 6 % interest and was content.  Everyone lived happily everafter.  And all was right with the world.

What a mess.

When the HAMP or as it was known way back when, Making Homes Affordable Program, arrived all shiny, new and full of hope, you could almost hear the struggling homeowners of America breathe a collective sigh of relief.

It wasn't to last long, however.

It started out a simple enough program; 3 trial payments, submit a letter outlining your hardship along with financial documents proving a reduced income insufficient to meet ones current mortgage obligation, and voila, if you met the requirements set forth by the Obama Administration for the HAMP program, you would receive your permanent modification with your new reduced payment for the life of the loan, your house was saved, your children could remain in their school, the neighborhood would remain stable and all would be right with the world.
