Okay now is the time for all of us to take action.

There is a push. A push RIGHT NOW, to press our Senators to lobby the White House to appoint Dr. Elizabeth Warren to head the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

I’ve had too many opportunities in my life to experience first-hand the selfishness and downright abusive tendencies of individuals whom I am sure have Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD). I have read that these are the hardest people to get treatment for, because they don’t think there is anything wrong with themselves. I also believe in such a phenomenon existing for an industry, and hereby accuse Wall Street as being a collectively Narcissistic Culture.

It is impossible to overstate the importance of websites like www.shamethebanks.org for people who are going through loan modification hell. The ability to share stories and comments are incalculable for our mental health. We also share articles and current events here that are getting the attention of people in Washington who may be trying to help.

Another place to go for information, solace, and hell of a lot of very smart ideas is www.beingmiddleclass.org.

I’m a little out of my league regarding disability rights, but I’m scratching my head at why Freddie Mac, as an investor on a loan, would demand to know details of a homeowner’s disability before approving a loan modification?

When I applied for a loan mod there were no questions about how long I had been at my job. No questions about the state of my health (and I am NOT young). I worried for a time that there was some age discrimination going on, but I did get a mod. I have a friend, though, whose hardship is long-term disability, and Freddie Mac seems to be blocking approval of the loan mod offered by her servicer because they want details of the disability.

Is this legal?

Sitting here on a Saturday morning looking at my signed permanent HAMP mod documents from Chase. Yes ladies and gentlemen, they sent it back and I have their signature.

This has been an 18 month struggle, and I wish I knew what part of what I did – which e-mail, which fax, which phone call made the difference. As yet I’m not at all sure. I am grateful yes for getting this, but I wish I had something to share with everyone about what the secret was. I think it is a crap shoot.
